4 Natural Ways to Beat The Afternoon Slump
Many of us find afternoons to be a struggle, losing focus and feeling sluggish. I used to turn to coffee or sugar for a mid-afternoon pick me up, but now I'm happy to be able to turn to a toolkit of natural solutions.
If you’re having trouble focusing afternoon, here are some tips to beat the afternoon slump:
Many people don't realise dehydration is one of the leading causes of afternoon fatigue. To help keep you energised all day long, make sure you're properly hydrated. I add a drop of Lemon or Grapefruit oil to my water for an extra boost. Note - only use pure therapeutic grade Essential Oils that are labelled safe to ingest.
2. Take quality supplements
Energy production in our bodies requires a lot of vitamins and minerals. The more nutrients we consume, the more energy we have! The problem is that most of us, even if we have a diet of whole foods, do not consume the full range of minerals and nutrients that our bodies need. 3. Go for a walk
If you find afternoon fatigue is starting to creep in, it might be time to stretch your legs. Head outside for a quick walk or do a few simple Yoga stretches. If you work in an office, remember that you are not chained to your desk and take a few minutes to move your body.
4. Use a diffuser
One of my favourite ways to boost my energy levels is to switch on my diffuser. Citrus oils like Lemon or Grapefruit, Peppermint, and Rosemary are great essential oils for boosting energy levels, improving focus, and feeling rejuvenated.
