Weekend Wanderings : Leeds Art Gallery

A couple of weekends ago I took a trip to Leeds. Surprisingly, despite living so close, I have only visited the city a handful of times - always to go shopping or visit Harvey Nichols for lunch.  This time I decided to take a more cultural trip and visit the Leeds Art Gallery. Mr Lovely was away for the week so I jumped on the opportunity to get out and about.

It was something I did a lot when I lived alone in London - every weekend I would head off, camera in hand and explore the city.

So it was great to rekindle that for a day. The art gallery and Henry Moore Institute were more impressive than I expected and I enjoyed the hours wandering through the galleries, making use of my camera and journalling over a pot of Yorkshire tea. It was exactly what I needed and a firm reminder that taking time away from my desk and getting out into the world is a non-negotiable.
