DIY Non-Toxic Cleaning Spray

I've long been on the hunt for a completely natural, toxin-free multipurpose cleaner for our home. I've found a couple of decent ones but they are not particularly budget-friendly, so I thought I would try out making my own.

I'm super happy with the result of my mini DIY - I used it to clean our en-suite yesterday and it's not only sparkling, but the whole room smells amazing!

To make your own cleaning spray, you'll need white or apple cider vinegar, a glass spray bottle (plastic won't work here) and a selection of your favourite certified therapeutic essential oils.

I opted to use a combination of Lemongrass (a super powerful cleansing agent), Purify blend (combination of essential oils that purify and eradicate odors) and onGuard blend (to kill viral and bacterial microorganisms).

You could also use Lemon, Eucalyptus or Tea Tree/Melaleuca.

It's completely safe, natural and the essential oils support my family's wellness #win

DIY Multipurpose Cleaning Spray

  • 1 glass spray bottle (I buy mine here)
  • 1 cup of white or apple cider vinegar
  • 30 drops if essential oils of your choice
  • Top with water
  • Shake up and spray away!

Spray onto the surface to be cleaned, leave for a minute or two and then wipe off, just as you normally would. I would suggest testing on a small inconspicuous area if you have any unusual or special surfaces - vinegar solutions should not be used on marble or granite.
